As suspected, at around 17:00 GMT, when Firefox 3 was scheduled for release, the web servers at Mozilla.com seem to be overloaded, or to have fallen over.

Either this is because of a huge number of people attempting to download Firefox as soon as it was released, or a Denial of Service attack by Microsoft Internet Explorer supporters.

For an number of reasons, I suspect it is really the first option.

I found somebody who was caught by these scammers.

For Moon's story, have a look at http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/perfect-travel-promotions-or-ptp-c64683.html

For the JBuilder registartion process, it is necessary to use the web registration route, as the direct internet registration seems to stall.

Also, the JBuilder 2005 needs to run with administrator rights.

Once the Sony Ericsson PC-Suite is fully installed, it still works, even after switching back to a better and more faster more secure web browser such as Firefox.

I think that there are certain psychologial price points which may vary from country to country.

In the UK £1.00 a litre causes the press to write and people
beome disgruntled.

Some in the UK think in 'old money'
so £1.00 a litre equates to £4.55 a gallon.

When petrol reaches £5.00 a gallon
or £1.10 a litre people may become more outraged.

I'm always intrigued by Japan.....
Arguably the most technologically advanced economy
still employs petrol pump attendants.

The sooner Matsushita crack the hydrogen question
& we move over to a hyrdrogen based economy the better.

At 12:08, CP sent a reasonably courteous apology, with a comment that she thinks, "this has gone to far now".

As a result, I will be editing the post to show only her initials. I wish her well in the future, and hope that she will start to show the high regard for accuracy that separates good agency staff from the less effective.

Despite originally claiming not to have my phone number, CP phoned me immediately after I had the courtesy to draw her attention to this blog article.

After she complained that she was upset by this article mentioning her name, and actions, she agreed that nothing was factually inaccurate, but she did not like her, or her company’s, errors being publicised. She then asked a colleague of hers to speak to me. He chose to harangue me, particularly about the original title of this article: “Incompetent agencies”. When I managed to query whether he had actually read it, or the email correspondence, he said “No”, but said C was upset. His uninformed attack did not present his company in a good light. Despite his colleague having telephoned me, he said, “I don’t want to waste any more time on this phone call”. I pointed out that I had listened to his abuse and I had offered to remove C’s name if she would be polite enough to apologise for her failures.

[...] There has been a significant decrease in the spammers reaching dragonthoughts.com. This is largly due to the hosting company considering my reports and taking action by blacklisting the IP addresses that are known to be compromised, of which only a couple onf new ones appeared today. United Hosting support staff said: After discussion amongst our team we are going to block the IP’s listed on your blog. If this catches some legitimate IP’s we will get reports and unblock as necessary. [...]
